MANY places I missed getting Flat Ella to during the trip in NYC. The Bronx was one of those places we didn't have time to visit. But if I had taken her, it would have been to the NY Botanical Garden. This picture was taken there of something else I miss(ed), Grandma J. She loved roses, and the trip to the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden at the New York Botanical Garden was fresh life for her. She came to visit in October 2001, right after the 9/11 attack. Much like Flat Ella, she did not have a broad knowledge of the City. But the adventurer that she was, with Stage 4 cancer, she toured the City while i was at work. Only when I returned home, I'd hear about her encounters. And on my days off, we would travel the City together...NYBG was one of those places. A visit from her I won't forget. May she Rest In Peace
